Detailed below is how to check if a domain name is available and how to register a selected domain name. Once you obtain a domain name, and keep it renewed every year, no one else can ever use your unique domain name... it belongs to you for your use only! There are hundreds of places on the Internet to register and obtain your domain name... prices vary widely... we have seen pricing from $7.00 to $35.00. You can use any registrar that you wish... do a search on Internet for "domain registrars" and you will find hundreds. Make sure that the domain name registrar you use registers your name in the International "whois" directory... if it is not registered in the "whois" database it is not protected from someone else using that name! We suggest not using any of the new
domain name extensions like .biz or .info or .us or .net
or whatever... only use a .com name (.com's are what people
expect)! Keep your domain name as short as possible but at the same
time it should tell people what you do. You can check below to see
if the domain name you like is available: |

| Register or Renew your Domain Name: | ||

Registration or renewal is easy... (1) Send us an eMail at registername@web48.com with the name you want registered or renewed. (2) Pay for your registration or renewal as detailed below. Click on the appropriate "add to cart" icon below to pay by credit card or send us a check (checks take longer because we wait 10 days for the check to clear). (3) After the name is registered the domain name registrar needs to be told what hosting service will host the domain name. DNS server names can be changed at any future time if you change hosting service to another provider. |

(4) Check your E-mail for two confirmation receipts... one giving you details about your domain name and one showing your payment record. In the future just eMail us any changes to be made to your DNS servers and we will make the changes for you at no charge. |
